Meanwhile, up here in NH people do not want the Northern Pass power transmission line to come through from Quebec Hydro where they have more electricity than they can ever use. Plus it is the CLEANEST electricity produced in the world, not to mention the cheapest. Also, last I heard there was not any shortage of water flowing into the Great Lakes drainage basin. Unlike, the Colorado River, the Saint Lawrence Seaway is not in a continual drought situation.

I honestly blame Sununu. Not the current one. The one who was governor back in the 1980’s that became Bush 41 Chief of Staff. We had the opportunity back then to build these power lines and import the electric power from Quebec Hydro. Instead they pushed through Seabrook Nuclear power station. However, they ONLY built one reactor instead of two. All the crazy libs fought that tooth and nail back then too if you remember. I still remember the signs going out to Plum Island, MA that say no evacuation possible.

So, now 35 years later we continue to kick the can down the road. The residents up in Coos county(border to PQ) do not want the transmission line to ruin their view. Coos county is very rural. Their income comes from farming, hunting, fishing, snowmobilers, camping, basically tourism. They do not want the line in their backyard that they will get absolutely no benefit from. With the exception of Rockingham and Hillsborough Countys(MA border) there will be no need for more electricity in the foreseeable future.
Most of the need for electricity is in MA, RI & CT. So, people up in rural NH say: why should this Right of Way transmission line go through our backyard to benefit all of dem dare flat landas don soth?

How is it that Hydro Quebec was asking customers reduce draw to avoid a blackout?
