A neighbor of Empire actor Jussie Smollett claims she spotted a man resembling a redneck hanging out near the entrance to their Chicago apartment complex an hour and a half before the alleged attack, according to TMZ.
The woman, who asked to remain anonymous, said she saw the man pacing between the buildings entrance and parking garage while she walked her dog at around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday. According to Smolletts neighbor, the man appeared agitated and out of place as he puffed on a cigarette. She said he was a white male with scruff on his face wearing a blue winter hat, a blue hoodie, and jeans. The alleged assailant also wore thick, grey hunting socks, which the neighbor said she could see because his jeans were ill-fitted, along with camel-colored shoes.

Gotcha. That’s a hot area of town! I seriously doubt some rednecks with hunting socks were hanging around the area waiting to get Jussie, though. Not plausible. More likely either a social meeting gone bad or some thugs that made their way over from the west side blocks away.
It was also 3 degrees with a wind chill of about -10 or so. No Subway in the area was open.
This story is complete fiction.

***She said he was a white male with scruff on his face wearing a blue winter hat, a blue hoodie,***
With all that on, how could she tell his neck was red?
Specially at 0200 in -9 deg weather.
The two guys were supposed to have been all bundled up so how did she see a redneck? This is getting more ridiculous every hour.
And the tobacco can circle on his back pocket had an NRA logo crudely sewn on it.
“I work in that area. Finding a redneck at 0200 on Tuesday when it was 3 degrees outside is just not believable.”
Especially...in Chicago...hillbilly
maybe, but a redneck?
Maybe he was thinking snack machines at the L station and not “subway”?
A local Chicago news reporter tweeted that there were was a 24/7 Subway shop in the vicinity, at 511 N. McClurg Ct.
Is this not correct? I have no knowledge of the area whatsoever but Google maps seems to agree with what he said.
If he was a real redneck - that “tin” may have been a condom....
How is it that it’s fine to label white folks crackers and rednecks? I’m starting to get offended!
Not to mentions honky and ofay. When I was in the navy, there was never any racial strife at my duty stations. This was before the Civil Rights Act. How is the military now?
