Dixie Chicks singer may have to pay her estranged husband Adrian Pasdar $60K a month in support

Dixie Chicks singer Natalie Maines is in the middle of divorcing her husband Adrian Pasdar, who has been on the TV shows Heroes and Agents of SHIELD.

And this week the 53-year-old actor has slowed the process down by asking his soon-to-be ex-wife for a very large sum of money even though he signed a prenup agreement before they wed 19 years ago.

Pasdar would like $60,000 a month - $44,076 a month in spousal and an additional $16,427 in child support - according to The Blast, as he claimed anything less would be very difficult for him. They have two teen children together, Jackson, aged 17, and Beckett, aged 14.

Adrian has claimed that his estranged wife is worth $50m with $2.6 million in liquid assets and property valued at $4.5 million, according to the site.

When does a pre-nup become invalid? Or can it? Isn’t the purpose of a pre-nup to prevent this kind of thing?

It’s just as absurd when a man does it to a woman as when a woman does it to a man.

But I’m ok with it. Reason and rational debate aren’t making the point to society at large, so perhaps a legal bludgeon will.
