Trump is not perfect, just working with the bad hand he was dealt. He will keep fighting for us, and there is nobody who would still be fighting for us at this point.

He spent 2 years caving on the Wall to Ryan.

At some point you should realize that the Wall to Trump was just a negotiating point.

Like in 'Art of the Deal' he found out what the base actually wanted and made a bid on it because no one else would.

Then he threw it out because winning the bid was what mattered and he figured he could just string along the base who would never dare to hold him to his promises.

Mostly the Senate. The wall was not just a negotiating point for Trump, although he gave it less priority than he should have. His base wanted jobs (regulations, trade etc) and the wall. The jobs worked out. The wall has not so far.
