A Central Texas school district is shutting their doors for the rest of the week after the flu takes a toll on attendance. McDade ISD in Bastrop County is closed Thursday and Friday. Classes will resume Monday, January 28 according to the district. Even though no students were on campus, staff spent Thursday hard at work cleaning every surface in sight. "Anything within reach of human hands -- we have scrubbed it and disinfected it," says McDade ISD Superintendent Barbara Marchbanks. She has never closed school because of a virus in the five years she's been with the district...Dr. Eric Higginbotham, medical director of pediatric medicine at Dell Children's..."We know that the vaccine last year and this year isn't as effective as it has been in years past"

Bam! Told ya so. Let the illegals come back from going to granny's in Mexico during the Christmas break and they bring back germs and viruses every time.

The flu shot isn't the right one, again. Imagine that.

That’s probably why that little boy on the border died.

Lucy, it has hit me hard. I am required to get the vaccination. I did. My wife never does.

I have been sick since Sunday. She has been extremely sick since Monday. I plan to return to work on Monday.

"scrubbed it and disinfected it"

Earlier this century, Clorox had a aerosol product that would kill 99.99% of just about any pathogen.

Re entry time for use was eight hours. May have got pulled due to misuse.

I used it in my shop waiting room and the offices then locked up

Pretty much a aerosol bleach.

It would have been interesting if Trump had shut down the whole border Dec. 1 and kept it shut if we’d have the annual flu outbreak or anything nearly as bad.

Students got back in school on Jan. 7 and it got bad enough to close the schools two weeks later. Not good for the future.

FWIW, I'd trust but verify before accepting that assertion as gospel.

And two days closure ain’t gonna do it. Cleaning can be done, but people can still be infectious and not know it.

True. They and their families are sick so they’ll bring it right back in.
