That pesky problem of workers trusting their employers is what led to Gramsci’s version of marxism, which we are suffering today.

Employers typically stick to the deal.

Employees show up and work. Employers pay up on payday.

Government is constantly changing the deal. The Federal Register is published daily with changes to or proposed changes to Federal Regulations.

If you have a company medium or large in size you have to contract with a company the goes through the Federal Register on a daily base and supplies you with changes that you need to know about.

Otherwise you take the risk of breaking a law you didn’t know existed. It also gives you the chance to fight a proposed change to law that will adversely affect you.

Why would anyone trust the government when it forces you in to such a place where any day it can change a law and put you out of business.

“Employers typically stick to the deal.”

Until the day they let you know that training your replacement is a condition of your severance package. Or you show up Monday morning and find that your department was liquidated over the weekend and there’s a security guard waiting at your desk to watch you collect your crap and walk you out. I could go on. Good rule of thumb is to trust no one at all. Everybody is in it for themselves. Short of a few situations where selflessness is the norm (infantry in combat? Firemen?), most people will shiv you to get a leg up the day after you help them out.
