I’m rural too. No cable and too far out for normal broadcast. And the satellite companies are outrageous. We still had an old school big dish around and set it back up again to get FTA free satellite, both KU and C bands. We are actually getting plenty to watch.

Can you tell me more about this? I didn't realize there was free satellite. We have a few of the small direct TV dishes from the previous owner, but I wonder if I could aquire an older dish from somewhere. What sort of equipment is needed?

I’m rural and don’t get much with my antennae that’s supposed to be good for 150 miles - local Atlanta channel 2 comes in clear but that’s all.

Any idea where I could get an old school big dish? If I can find the dish, what kind of receiver would I need?
