“I am tired of seeing long police funeral lines, and heartbroken families. I am TIRED of perps and their families and their arrogant enablers.”
Thank you for your post. You made excellent points regarding the way law-abiding citizens are treated in comparison to the rights of criminals.
I’ve never been pulled over, but I have had to call the county police out after my rental house was broken into 4 different times. The officers were all standoffish and alert to everything going on, wearing a camera in order to record me, very down-to-business types. I didn’t get offended at the demeanor of any officer I dealt with. They don’t know who, at any given moment, might be setting them up or who might fly off the handle.
In 2018, my community had two very young officers killed in the line of duty. We witnessed two police funerals with services at the same church less than 11 months apart, one last February, one right after Christmas. Two young husbands gone - one with a baby on the way, one with a toddler.
“I’ve never been pulled over...”
What never? I have been, many times in the almost 60 years I’ve been driving. By everything from local, to county, to state police, not always from or in my state or county or locality. A couple of times they were not pleased with me at the first, either. I treated them with respect, and obeyed their instructions, and the situations ended peacefully and professionally. Been to Court a couple of times, too, I was not always in the right. Presented my case, paid my fines, or what ever. (Reminds me, I owe another payment on a fine for not having the right insurance never mind, that’s none of your business, not your problem.)
And that breaks my heart- YOU know. I tell my son and my husband every day to say their prayer, just to make sure they are out there with their very best Partner. As a wife, mother, daughter and granddaughter of police officers, I know what it takes to be a family member, loving these people and worrying about them. Even if the cop killers are caught, they are “heroes”, ESP in jail. Many prayers for those family members left behind. I know Ofc. Toney’s (Gwinnet County GA) mom still suffers with her son’s death.
