3:55 PM -- The first photo of Jayme has surfaced ... showing her smiling with her aunt and godmother, Jennifer Naiberg Smith. As we told you ... they were reunited this afternoon at the hospital where Jayme was being evaluated.
1:57 PM -- Officials say cops recovered a shotgun consistent with what was used at the scene of the homicide. Cops say Patterson -- who shaved his head after allegedly killing Jayme's parents to hide from cops -- shot the door open.
Cops say Patterson had a small connection to Jayme's parents -- working at the same turkey processing plant as them for one day three years ago -- and he intentionally went looking for her. Cops say it's unclear right now why Patterson targeted Jayme. Patterson will make his first court appearance Monday in Barron County court.

He picked their house out of the blue?
I don’t believe it. There’s a connection somewhere.
As if that butt wipe could kick down a door!
More interesting in light of all of the new details that came out in the criminal complaint today.
He was calculating. Shaved his face and head and took a shower before he left to do the crime. We’d heard that previously.
He didn’t want to possibly leave an incriminating boot print, so he breached the door with a Mossberg shotgun.
He chose Mossberg, after doing some research, because there are so many Mossbergs out there that he figured it would be harder to trace.
I’m not a firearms expert, but, without the spent hulls, wouldn’t it be almost impossible to match the gun to the damage to the door and the fatal wounds?
I’m wondering which famous scumbag lawyer will show up to get this guy off since there will be lots of publicity. Also waiting for the relatives to tell us what a nice, hardworking boy he was.
Forensic ballistics ostensibly uses rifling marks on recovered projectiles to match them to a particular gun (barrel). Obviously, this cant be done with a smoothbore shotgun.
My point.
Apparently he saw her getting on the school bus and hatched a plan.
No social media involved. My bad.
