Fully Charged is mostly a two man effort from England; the younger of the two men visited the LA auto show, and got and shot a nice intro to the Rivian SUV and pickup models (410 and 400 mile range, respectively). They are going to be built in Illinois and most of the parts are US sourced.

I guess I gotta do more research on this; with the stats they're tossing around, sure seems to me like this platform could actually break the rural barrier, especially with a far more rational interior without 30,000 spaces for dirt and spiders to nest.

I mean, I know you don't bring the ‘work truck’ design to the auto show, but rationalize the interior, throw out the self driving systems, put in manual ‘frunk’ and tailgate, and aim for a much lower MSRP, and you could base a pretty good production line JUST selling them to fleet operations.

Plus I know a lot of rural post drivers who'd kill for a good right hand drive vehicle.

Great time to introduce it with gas prices plummeting.
I’ll be riding comfortable in my Ram 1500 big horn.
I’ll wait for them to install induction chargers in the hiways before I buy an electric vehicle. I have places to go and can’t wait more than a couple of minutes to get a 300 mile fill up.

Will it tow a fifth wheel plus a family of five? If it does, I might be interested in buying it.

Wife: “Did you pack the GASOLINE generator to charge up the SUV?”
Husband: “No”
Wife: “We’re screwed and I hear banjo music”

The pickup is very nice, many cool features. If you’ve priced new top of the line full size pickups, the price isn’t out of line but they’re all expensive. Plenty of towing capacity, but I didn’t note anyone speaking about range while towing. It’s decent enough to be competitive with gas engines without towing, 400 miles plus, but an 11,000 lb. trailer is going to cut that down dramatically, I’d think. The acceleration to 60 is in supercar territory, 3 seconds. I think they’ll sell a few.

STUPID design! HUGE air-pushing front end with no engine in the engine bay!?!?! An EV should be aerodynamic at a minimum! Drop that hood and make the truck slick as an arrow (aero - get it?) if it’s an EV.....

Showing the brains behind EV’s have no common sense.......
