Ronald Reagan told the American people farewell from the Oval Office 30 years ago today. Reagan is spectacular. The article so-so.

Okay, I found my “Article of the Day.” This is spectacular. And long. So I’m trying to pull out just a little. MUST READ. Emotional and logical RANT!

The Dems Who Cried ‘Wolf!’

Dov Fischer

FTA:
...Have a bad name to call Trump? Ho-hum.

...And that is why I found it so insane from Day One when they would call Trump anti-Jewish. The man is the best friend American Jews ever have had in the White House — and the polar opposite of Obama, who actually had visceral hatred toward Israel, toward its elected leader, and whose vengeful last parting spiteful shot was to leave Israel abandoned in the United Nations, refusing to veto a Security Council resolution that ultimately has vanished into history’s dustbin anyway as Obama is doing.
...
We can’t figure out what these Leftists are talking about. ... Over time, Trump has recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, moved America’s Israel embassy to Jerusalem, withdrew from the barbaric UN Human Rights Council, withdrew from the insane and deadly Iran Deal, has supported religious freedoms and the rights of the living unborn, commuted the sentence of a Jew who was railroaded by a corrupt anti-Semitic court system in Iowa, had his Education Secretary visit and praise yeshiva private schools, saw his Vice President roll up his sleeves and physically assist in restoring a Jewish cemetery that had been vandalized in St. Louis. And the list goes on.
...
...Democrats, the academia Left, Hollywood and Broadway, the Corrupt Left Media, and all the others of that cruel and viciously deceitful cabal had settled on a strategy that they would lie baldly and badly about Trump, fabricate the wildest falsehoods and accusations, call him the worst names, use every excuse to compare him to Hitler — even as it would be they who would leverage the Nazi technique of the Big Lie. ...

...What kind of psychological illness even impacts the mind of someone who places Trump in such a category? Racists do not proclaim that we all bleed the same red, white, and blue blood.
...

Ronald Reagan told the American people farewell from the Oval Office 30 years ago today.

I recall Reagan didn't stick around for GHWB's inauguration.

I could be mistaken but I think RR went out of his way to snub the veep he'd been forced to take on.

I remember a live tv shot of the swearing in and a cut to a plane with RR on board.

(As I type this, I'm recalling more.)

I think GHWB took the oath slightly earlier than noon and RR was still president during the flight. The call sign for the aircraft was changed while airborne.

It made the rounds of the anti-Reagan commentariat at the time. Does anyone else remember any of this?

Yes, this is a slide but we're discussing Ronald Reagan here.
