Peace is breaking out. Media won’t cover it

Don Surber

Kim Jong Un was in Beijing this week as U.S. trade officials met with their Red Chinese counterparts. Behind the talk of tariffs and trade deficits, the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula loomed. A war that began 68 years ago nears its end.

The American press is ignoring it, instead nattering on about nonsense.

The big headline in the Washington Post today was, “Trump has concealed details of his face-to-face encounters with Putin from senior officials in administration.”

So what? President Trump does not report to them — they report to President Trump. Basic civics are beyond the comprehension of reporters out to get the man we elected president.

Which is why the Fake News Media hides this good news. Democracy dies in darkness, and the American press is become darker than the ocean’s floor.

The Korea Times reported, “North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has reaffirmed his commitment to the denuclearization and vowed efforts to produce good results from his second summit with U.S. President Donald Trump, Chinese state media said Thursday.

“Kim made the pledge during his summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on Tuesday, according to Xinhua News Agency. Kim was in China for a four-day trip, his fourth visit to the neighboring ally in about 10 months.”

His exact words were, “The DPRK will continue sticking to the stance of denuclearization and resolving the Korean Peninsula issue through dialogue and consultation, and make efforts for the second summit between DPRK and U.S. leaders to achieve results that will be welcomed by the international community.”

Peace. What a novel concept. President Donald John Trump’s uncle was a physicist at MIT who schooled him on nuclear weaponry. Since the 1980s, Trump has desired to bring an end to the Korean War. He wanted Reagan to appoint him to negotiate an arms agreement with the Soviet Union.

I have faith in the man.

“Trump has concealed details of his face-to-face encounters with Putin from senior officials in administration.”

buried in the middle of the article:

The Trump administration “has imposed significant new sanctions in response to Russian malign activities,” said the spokesman, who spoke on the condition of anonymity and noted that Tillerson in 2017 “gave a fulsome readout of the meeting immediately afterward to other U.S. officials in a private setting, as well as a readout to the press.”
