This show was a case in point, it was interesting for a few seasons, then first the cases became increasingly shocking, followed by too much focus on the personal aspects of the characters.
we stopped watching years ago and to be honest I did not know it was still on the air.
Good TV shows have a lifespan of 3-5 years (there are exceptions)
Yes, Perry Mason an example.
Most if not all of the crime dramas exist to stoke the belief that....fill in the blank.... law enforcement agencies are busily catching bad guys, and are all powerful. In truth, the FBI entices and prods people into committing crimes, then they make a bust. Another hard truth is, the cases of hard core mass murderers are few and far between. The FBI really exists to service itself, do background checks on Federal Government employees, and justify its massive budget.
Yes, interesting until Mandy Patinkin suddenly quit with no notice.
Apparently he, too, was disgusted with the show. Never as good since.
Criminal Minds is too dark for my taste.
Blue Bloods in very consistent, with the exception of the uncerimonious death of Dannys wife, Linda.
All she says is that her contract was not renewed. I got the impression that the show was a bit too conservative for her and she chose to leave. But who knows.
I love Blue Bloods.
