He created one man, Adam, and one woman, Eve, and from that one male and female couple the human race was brought forth. God did not create Adam and Eve as hermaphrodites.

By definition they are neither male nor female.

If you are going to classify them as male or female, they they are, by definition, not hermaphrodites.
