Flashback: Boeing virtual fence: $30 billion failure

The Department of Homeland Security "virtual fence" project, being built by Boeing, is in big, big trouble. The virtual fence is a high-tech network of cameras, lighting, sensors, and technology designed to intercept illegal border crossings. According to the Wall Street Journal:

Boeing Co. has changed the management of an electronic-surveillance project along the U.S.-Mexican border after falling more than two months behind schedule, marking the complications involved in setting up a new generation of border security.

The project, part of a larger Department of Homeland Security program called SBInet, is a critical link in the plan to use technology to monitor the borders for illegal immigrants, drug smugglers and possible terrorists. Towers set up along a stretch of the border near Nogales, Ariz., are supposed to use motion sensors, cameras and radar to keep track of wide areas. According to the government, Boeing has had trouble getting the different components to work together without glitches.

“I heard someone comment recently that the reason the Democrats/left are opposed to a physical wall/fence, is because it is a permanent structure that can’t be easily reversed once it’s built.”

My first thought on is no, all a Democrat or a Bushie has to do is order the Border Patrol not to repair it, as holes are cut through. But then, if that’s the case, and people see pictures of it being breached and not repaired (which, hopefully, some of the agents will take those pictures), it would be a killer for that Dem/Bushie.

But overall, I think the real reason is VERY SIMPLE:

1) Deny Trump his Number 1 campaign promise.
2) Then run around telling Republicans, see, we told you so, TRUMP IS A FRAUD AND A LIAR - he was never serious about the wall.

The second one will be coupled with trolls and bots posting things like “I voted for Trump, but since he now doesn’t support the wall, there is no way I’m voting for his re-election”. And, sadly, many people would tend to believe stuff like that, even if was the Democrats who stopped him.

“The Great Wall of China is still standing for centuries and don’t need billions of taxpayers money to maintain it every year.”

And the thing about that wall is that I dare ANYONE, or even a large group of people, armed the way those attacking our Southern Border are armed (with sidearms, if that), to try to make it over (or through) that wall, even if it’s guarded by a handful of Chinese soldiers. In other words, WALLS WORK.

...and the Left knows that, which is why this debate has NOTHING TO DO WITH BORDER SECURITY - that is simply a not a concern for the Dems. It is all about preventing Trump from completing a campaign promise.

Do you think the commie dems ever care they are wrong almost all the time. I mean even a blind squirrel will find the occasional acorn.

Going through life stupid, ignorant, and leftist is a fate worse than death.

So this is what happened to all the appropriation made years ago? It got wasted by Boeing?

Air bus already has a working solution. It isn’t rocket science at all.

Anything less than a physical wall leaves politicized bureaucrats in the loop is useless. We don’t need to detect...we need to STOP.

A virtual fence is a good depth option to support a real one.

The only reason to only use a virtual fence is to hide that you have security at all and how far it extends.

So, like “Read my lips. No new taxes.”

Democrats create an untenable situation and force the issue be compromised, then condemn the opponent for compromising with them.

More or less what happened with Bush Sr., although Bush had just lost Lee Atwater, and by losing him Bush was TOTALLY CLUELESS when it came to dealing with Democrats, as he quickly showed. Same for his son, of course. Trump doesn’t seem to have that problem, which is a big part of why the Democrats hate him so much.
