Why now? Why didn't he demand Congress fund it when the Repubs controlled both Houses? Seriously. I can't explain it.
Because he would have been going through exactly what he is going through now only with his own party!!! I think he was TRYING to save his own party before the election he lost the house anyway!!!
I believe he did ask for it...He, at that time, didn’t have the leverage he has now...

Because he was reminded by Ann Coulter and others that this would be his “read my lips no new taxes” moment. The repubs had no intention of funding the wall either.
It’s do or die for his presidency and our nation(the stakes from the start). He has way too many idiot advisors around him that don’t quite grasp that fact.
