I find the Chrysler bldg more attractive than the building it plays 2nd fiddle to, Empire State Bldg.

I am sure it does but it does not have open floor plans that business renters are looking for.

"...Chrysler Building..."
There must be remarkable spaces on the upper floors near the remarkable metal gargoyles that decorate the building.

Easily my favorite skyscraper in NYC. A beautiful site when the sun rises.

Actually, I would be surprised if it did have central air.
Most buildings from that period did not have central air. Their heating came from steam pipe radiators, so there are no air venting system in the walls.

Drive West on Skillman Ave. from Roosevelt Ave. in Woodside, Queens just at or after dark. As you crest the hill the lighted spire of the Chrysler Bldg. rises from the roadway in front of you. An absolutely beautiful sight.
Just took a look on Google Earth. Evidently you’d have to do it in the winter now. The trees have filled out quite a bit since I last drove this 20 or more years ago :^/

Never mind that. How are the bathrooms?
Jerry: Anywhere in the city?
George: Anywhere in the city - I’ll tell you the best public toilet.
Jerry: Okay Fifty-fourth and Sixth?
George: Sperry Rand Building. 14th floor, Morgan Apparel. Mention my name - she’ll give you the key.
Jerry: Alright Sixty-fifth and Tenth.
George: (Scoffs) Are you kidding? Lincoln Center. Alice Tully Hall, the Met. Magnificent facilities.
And don’t forget Brand Leland. Marble everywhere and flush like a jet engine! Copiers tend to jam, though.

Woodside. In a former life I had a lady friend in Woodside, and I lived in Jackson Heights......1962.

Was visiting NYC about 5 years ago when a sudden "urge" overcame me.
I'll always be grateful to Macy's for being in the right place at the right time. Whew.
