I’ve been telling folks all we need to do is start SeaBee teams at both ends and let them compete with each other to see who makes the most progress. I’ll bet people would be amazed.

I like that idea. There could even be a ceremony where the final steel panel is put up, kind of like the meeting point of the Transcontinental Railroad at Promontory point.
The last panel could be gold plated a la the Golden Spike, with a giant letters that say “MAGA”, or “TRUMP”.
The halfway point could be right around El Paso, TX.
