The great controversy between good and evil continues until the events described in Revelation. Until then, Lucifer, the devil or Satan is largely in control, proving to the universe that he's not worthy of controlling anything!!!

satan has been given limited influence on this earth for a timebeing which God has chosen, but God is in control. Holy Spirit can still stir people’s hearts and minds toward God. satan trys to kill steal and destroy what is good or godly about a person and many cave at times (free will) and bad things can snowball from there, but God knew this from the beginning and He is still in control (book of Job - God, in control, allowed things to happen to Job)
