When I was working in the Senate in the 80s, Senate offices were assigned strictly by seniority, and good ones much coveted. Party affiliation didn’t even play a part. Don’t know what the system is now, but I would guess it is the same.
Yes, I believe seniority is a qualifier for the grander offices. I would be surprised to find Hatch’s office in the basement, though. Ha! Love it that MitWit is in the hole. LOL! Thrilled he’s there, but he will be hell on wheels straining for undeserved seniority in order to get of that hole.
