I don’t recall having seen that quote in prior discussions of “keystone” ... was I missing it? That is possibly the best translation I’ve seen!

It’s an accurate paraphrase of Jefferson’s views on education, but the exact wording seems to belong to the meme creator or the author of a tweet, and not Jefferson.
The concept is what strikes me ... it goes to the heart of the “Q” phenomenon! A better keystone there could not be. TBD ;)
There is a Thomas Jefferson site that has archives of everything he wrote and one can take quotes and find out if they are authentic or not. I have used it many times. I’ll see if I can find the site. Making up T.Jefferson quotes is quite a cottage industry. Found it, I remembered the name of the site once it popped up. I did a search on:
