>>How can someone like that turn liberal?

Absolutely breaks my heart. She was one of the centers of Arming Women Against Rape and Endangerment (AWARE). I built the first website for them. She also taught gun courses for decades. The only hint of liberalness in the old days was that her favorite radio station was NPR. Somehow, during Trump’s election period, she began regurgitating everything she was hearing there. Arguments didn’t help. I think the repetition every time she was in the car was overwhelming. Finally she made her break and her husband and I, at first, got into fierce, emotional arguments with her. Then we learned to avoid political topics. Now she and I concentrate on our love for one another and try to accept the intellectual divergence.

She’s looking for a place to put her collection of Women & Guns and is thinking about the NRA museum or Radcliffe. I suggested, gently, that someday Radcliffe may decide that the word “Women” in the name might not be a good enough reason not to deep-six her collection and that, for longevity, NRA might be the better place. She’ll also ask the University that took all of her professional papers.

Sad story. Hopefully she will see the light soon.
