Lol they are going to carry the wood with them the whole trip? They are going to carve them on site from wood they found in the Sonoran desert? There aren’t going to be border agents on the other side of the wall monitoring who is approaching the wall?
What ever the wall is it will be better than a wide open border and the fact that people can’t just walk across will mean less agents can do a better job on focusing on an idiot that thinks he can climb over with wood or rope or a ladder whatever. Additionally with less agents needed to watch the border the other agents can spend more time addressing those that fly into the country and overstay their visa, a win-win despite your Doom and gloom hyteria that they will be whittling slats to climb over.
They don’t have to carry anything. If the media is involved, others (possibly even the media) will hand them not only the wood, but a knife and directions!
I just think thick very hard & durable concrete would be a better choice—cameras are easy to add.
I could imagine piles of such tools building up on the Mexican side of the wall.
There are, at least, several other ways to design climbing mechanisms that take advantage of the steel wall design.
Concertina wire on the top and on the bottom on the MX side will certainly discourage most people attempting to somehow climb up.
