Just a guess on my part, but it could be they are refunding the money. GoFundMe is a liberal site, I was amazed they let this go as far as it did. In the end, I think that it helped the repubs in the house and senate grow a backbone in the battle for wall funding. Because of the rate the money was coming in at that time. For those of us that donated, we will get our money back. So we were able to send a message loud and clear at no real financial cost to us.

No, they only get money if you tip them. When you make a donation, the page has the tip field filled in. The tip field is auto filled in with a non-zero amount. If you set the tip field to 0, GoFundMe does not get any money.

It was set at 15%. When I tied to change it, it would only allow me to reduce it to 10%.
