check out the last paragraph: "Our highest priority is always the safety and well-being of our employees and customers at our restaurants." said a McDonald's spokesperson.

Yes, McDonalds is so concerned with safety and well being of "employees" - so much so that the employee who was so violently assaulted (over a stinking straw) was terminated for defending herself (or so I have read in a couple of places).

It’s California’s fault. They banned plastic straws and now everyone is falling in line. There was a story about a British man who opened a restaurant in Dallas who not only voluntarily doesn’t carry straws, he provides a environmental lecture to anyone who asks for one. He can stick his restaurant up his bloody bum.
