Why would the owner of a diesel truck be angry with the owner of an electric vehicle simply charging his/her car?
Would they prefer everyone to have diesel engines so that there can be longer lines at the diesel pumps?

I think it may be more of a cultural push-back than anything else. Tesla owners might represent cultural or political views truck owners reject.
