Do you have to pay to use those charging stations?

Seems like it wouldn’t be to difficult to make an adapter to a large battery that you could drive around and charge up...then drive it home and power your house...

Just a thought...

I’m guessing the station talks to the car and checks it’s kosher... remember, Tesla is in charge of the vehicle. For ever.

Early buyers charge for free for the lifetime of the car. In order to get free charging now, you have to buy the top end model which costs well in excess of $100k. Most new Tesla owners get free charging for about 1K miles. It is cheaper to charge at home than use the Tesla supercharging network.
