I attend church armed. Many of my brothers and sisters are aware of it. Some of them carry as well. Had this individual chosen our church; he likely would not have survived the experience.

[man who allegedly said he was on his way to a church with a gun to “fulfill what he called a prophecy.”]
Yikes. After 9/11 I was telling people churches need armed guards.
I say that’s true now more than ever.

I can’t at the church I go to without specific permission of the pastor. I haven’t pushed it. I do carry on the way there and when I come out to leave.
But there are armed guards inside. Doors at locked at the outside to route traffic.
And there are uniformed sheriff / police along with plainclothes armed in the parking lots.

>> In our church, the guy would be filled with lead.
FReepers, is it that way in your church? Do you have a radio equipped parking lot “greeter” to assist with parking, AND to look for DLRs (Don’t Look Right)?
If you concealed carry in church, have you coordinated with other concealed carriers?
Are the back entrances used? Are they locked to prevent access from the outside once the service begins?
Have you had the local PD or Sheriff’s office to stop by for a security survey?
Ever hear of Sheriff Wayne Ivey in Florida:

Looks to be a very small church set up in a former retail operation. Small Mexican restaurant next door (separate building).

As a result of the investigation, Albert was arrested and transported to the Guadalupe County Jail where he was booked in for Possession of Marjuana and Felon in Possession of Firearm.
I have a pistol in my glovebox all the time. Never leave home without it and it's legal.

Only state law, such as here in Ohio where the church must opt-in for allowing the carrying of firearms therein.

I doubt your pastor is ever going to frisk you. I personally no longer follow people who put my life at risk like your pastor.

Well, I’m friends with him for 25+ years plus the guys armed inside. I can’t put them in an awkward position.
Plus the guys outside WILL arrest people.
I’d prefer to carry inside but these guys have got the situation. They’re all in constant contact. I often have to wait when talking to them because we get interrupted by something coming in.
With that, never seen a serious situation there. There are several marked cars out front. Sheriff, usually.

To this day Im still trying to figure out the logic of a gun free zone.
...
Touchy feely, no logic, just projected unicorns and rainbows...you knew the answer, I’m sure.

How much ammo do you carry? Very important to have ammo I am told.

That would be approximately one-half the males at my religious establishment. Could not comment on amount of training but we are certainly aware of potential mayhem of 100 discharges from random directions. We also have professional (off-duty) presence every Sunday and major events.

This should be obvious—when a murderer says God told him to do it, you shouldn’t believe the murderer.
