My Cousin Vinny is great but, The Graduate? As a comedy?

If you want to veg out one afternoon watch The Graduate followed immediately by Rainman? Those two, viewed back to back, makes them sort of funny.

The Graduate? As a comedy?

The Graduate certainly wasn't a documentary. Everyone in the older generation who were in their 20s when that movie came out laughed like crazy at the word "Plastics" as it was used in the movie (not dirty—just dumb). There were a lot of great lines and scenes, especially with Mrs. Robinson.

Some of these should be classified as satires, not as straight-up comedies. Strangelove, The Graduate, et al, are not comedies.
