You’re not supposed to know, by design. The rules are ever changing, and therefore at some point, you will be wrong, without any malicious intent, but you will need to be punished. I’m sure you understand. The job market is pretty good right now, so it shouldn’t take long to find a new one.
Do try to keep up though, so you can virtue-signal how hip and on top of things you are with regard to the correct nomenclature. It separates us from those icky ignorant hick rubes in flyover Jesusland.
I wouldn’t even call a rude person such as he “sir”.
