Yep, I never ran a significant business, but if I did, I vowed to sign every check that goes out. I would NEVER entrust anyone other than close family (if that) to sign for me.
In that business, I’d be checking invoices randomly. If I saw one for 50 oil filters, I’d ask to see them or see where they were used, and I’d check the price charged against Amazon or Part.com to make sure nothing funny is going on. And you just keep doing it and doing it, it’s simply part of the business.
It’s obviously much better to prevent the problems, rather than have to try to deal with them afterwards..
