No doubt it will be several days of miles and miles. But, I love traveling and this is right up my alley, but with all the mountain passes in that part of the world it can make it difficult with the moving van.

I had made a similar move from the CA foothills to Missouri in January 2001. I wasn't about to take the Sierra passes with a 17' moving truck. Like ifinnegan said, go to Sacramento and head south on either I-5 or 99 and catch I-10 to go east.

Even when I did that (I took I-40 east), I still got caught in a snowstorm and put off the road overnight by the New Mexico highway patrol in Gallup. Safe travels!
