There’s expansion going on the appears to be accelerating, and the farther out you look, the faster the expansion.

What’s above and below the balloon surface? After all a balloon has three dimensions, not just the two of the surface.
Our 3D universe could wrap itself around like a balloon only if there was a 4th dimension.

They may think they live in a 2D world but as a matter of fact they are on a 3D world. A sphere is 3D. That they are unaware of it doesn’t change that fact.
You cannot make a 2D sphere.

It gets more complicated and even troubling, but you get used to it, more or less.

The globe model can not be scientifically or mathematically proven.
So riddle me these:
- Where do the pictures of a round Earth come from? why is the Sun/Moon/other planets all round? Shouldn't some of them be a line/oval? Or do they all always face the Earth?
- Why is there a horizon? If the Earth didn't curve, shouldn't you be able to see all the way to the other end?
- How is it that you end up at the same destination, whether you go all the way west or east? Shouldn't one direction get there, and the other fall off the end?

Light and sound both travel in waves, but not of the same type. Visible light is part of the electromagnetic spectrum, and can therefore travel through a vacuum. Sound propagates as a longitudinal wave, and needs a medium (e.g. air) to travel through.

You mean that you can’t hear Captain Kirk coming in the Enterprise?
To: sparklite2
I knew a fellow who believed sound is on the EM spectrum. Sound can be produced by the EM Spectrum.

“We have known for the past 20 years that the universe is expanding at an ever accelerating rate. “
We KNEW it was INFINITE.
Then we KNEW it was not infinite, but was shrinking.
Next, we KNEW it was not infinite, but was expanding.
Recently, we KNEW it was expanding, but at an ever accelerating rate.
WHAT will we KNOW next ?

I propose the DARK STRING theory.
Galaxies are held together by massive balls of string that are ‘dark’ and cannot be seen.

Would that be on the high end of electro-magnetism (cosmic rays, UV light) or the low end (infra-red, radio)?A better question would be, why is the output from a MAGNET not on the electro-magnetic spectrum ?

lol...Thought I might not of made my point but we clearly communicated!

Very well....Which came first?
Space or matter ?
If space , was there time ?—nothing can “happen” without an occurrence of matter changing its form.. Time is merely measuring the changes in things(Matter)
If matter was first, into what did it appear?
Lotsa funny things happen with ‘words’....

It’s one of those cases when time doesn’t matter.
