Easy ...just roll porcupine in a layer of mud...bake in the fire.....when nice and solid peel off the baked mud with spines attached....add spices to taste

Don't you have to gut the porcupine first (another tricky task), or do you leave in the gut contents for seasoning?

Stick it upside down in the mud then gut it.
