I studied vaccines:
Great idea when a fatal, contagious disease is spreading. Polio is a textbook example. It works well when the vac one itself harms 0.1% of the population, but is 80% effective at preventing the disease.
The problem comes after many years and the prevalence of polio is nil. The vaccine doesn’t really improve your odds of not getting polio, but it still makes 0.1% of the population sick.
The policy/ requirements must change at this point.
Btw- Vaccine manufacturing is exempt from product liability lawsuits, it had to be, or the people messed up by it would have sued them out of existence, and polio would still be prevalent.
Now there is a real issue with balancing individual health and population health. (And abuses by vaccine manufacturers)
