I forgot to pay my bills last week so have to do that first thing after coffee. Then I need to clean up a little, put my plants out to water. The party is over for me today. :-)
This would be a great question to do a valid poll about. Has anyone even seen a list of the agencies that are actually closed? I wonder how many of them were never intended to be Federal responsibilities.

Not a thing. Thinking about driving over the Blue Ridge Parkway and things like The Visitor Center, bathrooms, garbage collection will be closed. The only thing I will miss will probably be the bathrooms but I will have to make do.
It seems during shutdown see only things people complain about are the national parks being closed. Did Trump make an exception in this case? Seems there should be a way to just keep those open and shut down the rest. I never heard people complain about anything but that. In the past

I think it is just a cyclical thing, several nights of being able to go back to sleep after waking up, followed by a few nights of just being sleep-less, it will all work out.
WE GOT SNOW!!! and it is berry cold, high in low 30’s dropping to low teens tonight, going to have this for a few days and just maybe MORE snow, YES!
And it is BEAUTIFUL! Love looking out my window as it gets light.

Indeed! I’d also like to see a correlating poll showing how many EBT checks didn’t go out, due to this ‘shut down’.
I’m sure those checks roll out, right on time, regardless.

Collman Lloyd’s parents told BuzzFeed News they were not bothered by President Trump’s choice of words, which some wondered may have ruined Santa for the little girl.
The parents of Collman Lloyd — the 7-year-old girl from Lexington, South Carolina, whose phone call with President Trump on Christmas Eve went viral after he asked her if she still believes in Santa Claus and then said, “At 7 it’s marginal, right?” — said they have no issue with how Trump spoke to their daughter.
In fact, dad Donald J. Lloyd, 40 (who, as it happens, shares a first name and middle initial with the president), told BuzzFeed News he would have used similar language with his daughter, and that he thinks the remark is being blown out of proportion and unfairly politicized.
“I think it’s crazy it became a big deal. It’s Christmastime. I’d love to keep politics out of Christmas,” said Donald. “It didn’t bother me — I like to talk to my kids like adults.”
Collman’s mom, Erica, 40, agreed. She added that she found Trump to be extremely generous.
