Have been single since ‘91 and am currently without a gf. My kids all off elsewhere, so yeah, all alone. I am in good spirits and have a lot to keep me busy, though I do pine for a mate.

I’m alone with my dogs, and my family is not having Christmas lunch until 12/26. I had a ticket to a Die Hard movie party tonight but feel like a cold is coming on. Tomorrow I’ll plan a cheeseboard for Wednesday and make cornbread dressing tomorrow. Maybe church in the morning,

Maybe I’ll watch Die Hard tonight - at home!

I look at my dogs and think that they don’t know it’s a special day. They’re just happy I’m with them.

Merry Christmas, y’all!

What is Italian beef?"

I take half a roast, one bottle of Italian dressing, one bottle of Italian peppers, a tsp of parsley, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and oregano and just dump it all in a crock pot on low for 12 hours and serve it over a sandwich roll and use the juice like French dip. I shred the beef to spread it over the bun.

Everyone have a quiet and satisfying Christmas Eve and Day. God bless you and thanks to FR for some outside contact.

I hope nobody is ‘appalled’ at your appearance! Maybe you should aim a bit higher than ‘less appalling’?

HA!

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

The flip side of Holiday aloness is too many shallow people drinking and you want your time back. The best I enjoy are sober folks, who turn the TV off and can keep a conversation going.

Someday I will invent a phone internet where alone people just jump into an ongoing audio discussion.

But my inner philosopher says you are never alone when you have yourself. Keep a solo conversation going out loud. Try to talk for 3 hours or until you sleep.

Well it is no different than sitting with TV watchers and not saying a word for two hours, drowsing away until the TV show ends.

Seriously, each Holiday day is like every other day. I get strokes and warmth connecting to people I meet, not days.  When Society tells me how I should spend certain days, I say “Not!”

Merry Jesus Christmas :-)

I had a short stint working in a park which required someone to be there Christmas day and other major holidays and I was often picked. What amazed me most was the people touring the park. Mostly older couples and single older people with no other family.

Not everyone has a perfect family situation we believe to be “normal”. I’m willing to bet that people that have a tree, gifts and family for Christmas is around 50%. The balance are just lonely people, those that do not believe or hate Christmas or too poor.

Nonetheless, Merry Christmas to all!

Alone at home with the wife tonight. First time in 60 years I’m not with Mom and siblings at her house.

Yesterday we brought our son home from the hospital where he has been for nearly four months so this is a wonderful day for all of us.. He and his fiance will also spend a very quiet night at home.

I thank you. A bad cold is no joke at age 65. I shouldn’t have played golf when I didn’t feel so great, that probably brought it on quicker and made it worse.

After my divorce, I would spend Christmas Eve with some girlfriends and we would go to a midnight mass. Now we’re too tired to do that! Kids come over tomorrow.

Celebrate Christmas with my mom and Bros, their kids on Thanksgiving. It ain’t the same but it’s something.

Cooked all day, watching the 1951 version of A Christmas Carol. (Rather watch the Mr. Mcgoo one but that has banned. Sad lol.) Early bedtime.

It’s changed but I use it to spend more time with my faith.

Well, not really alone, but a couple days ago I suffered through the stomach flu - pretty well recovered by yesterday, but last night wife came down with all the symptoms - forced us to cancel Christmas eve at our house, the usual tradition, and for sure we won't be making the annual Christmas feast at niece's with the whole family tomorrow - now if only daughter, who's been helping to take care of her mom, escapes without the "bug"...
Some consolation watching DVD's of old Christmas shows, including the Mormon Tabernacle concert of a few years back with one of my favorites The Friemdly Beasts......it's still a precious time - enjoy....

I’m going to build a nice flag case for my friend’s veteran casket flag. I will laser etch the US Army logo and facts about his service on the glass case cover.

That sounds beautiful. Sorry for your loss.
