If you run windows, try out soem software, and it infects your windows system massively, then you have to reinstall windows- you linux system will be fine, but still, you hasve to reinstall your windows system- if however you try out software in a sandbox on windows, and a virus hits, you simply delete the sandbox environment, and your windows os is still fine- no reinstall needed
Yes, that is why I run Linux. Microsoft sucks. Though I do have Windows 7 on alternate boot. I didn’t realize how hard it is to install windows 7 now a days without a CD drive. It was nuts.
