how does that help? If you run windows, try out soem software, and it infects your windows system massively, then you have to reinstall windows- you linux system will be fine, but still, you hasve to reinstall your windows system- if however you try out software in a sandbox on windows, and a virus hits, you simply delete the sandbox environment, and your windows os is still fine- no reinstall needed

If the SCOTUS or the Congress had any cajones, they’d break up these virtual monopolies. I hate them all. MS, Google, Amazon, you name it. Not to mention the MSM!

So shameful and cowardice!

What kind of company produces a worse product that its predecessor? Microsoft, of course.

In other words, you won't buy it, you'll rent it, and have to keep paying for it for so long as you use it.

Well, THAT is NOT gonna happen.

Yes, that is why I run Linux. Microsoft sucks. Though I do have Windows 7 on alternate boot. I didn’t realize how hard it is to install windows 7 now a days without a CD drive. It was nuts.

Same here, and I probably forever will, even when the support stops. I have no desire to use 8, 8.1 or 10.

No word on whether there will be a name change, but MS is definitely moving to the Chromium based rendering enging.

I looked up this claim and found a few links, most notably this one from ZDNet: https://www.zdnet.com/article/microsoft-edge-what-went-wrong-whats-next/

It is a little surprising considering the “push” for phone and tablet integration in this latest major update snafu which has been causing considerable difficulties for many people for the last two months. It could be a last hurrah. But I would not count on this being a certainty about where this is going.

As I said in my previous post, Microsoft is a huge corporation where one hand often does not know what the other hand is doing. The leadership of Microsoft under Satya Nadella feels disharmonious as compared to generations past. This is at least partially because he appears to be a closet conservative in an industry where flaming liberals rule the roost. But Microsoft has a long history and tradition of hostility, infighting, and backstabbing at the leadership level.
