Beethoven's "Moonlight" Sonata is in 4 sharps, C# minor. The first movement is slow, which should not be a problem. I hit it the first time I tried it, and I was probably not more than 10 years old at the time.

The second movement is a minuet in D-flat, i.e., 5 flats, but I had no problem with it.

The finale in C# minor is a holy terror. It involves some nasty maneuvers with the wrist of the right hand, and I could never get it up to the necessary speed. It's a serious challenge to the non-professional.

A friend of mine who went to music school was telling me recently how difficult the 3rd movement is. She was a music therapist until she retired a few years ago.

Have you ever heard of eating a banana before a recital to calm nerves?

I used to eat one before every recital.

Beethoven's "Moonlight" Sonata

It can't be that difficult if I can play it.
