My statement is simplistic but it is reality. I lived in the Middle East for a few years. There are many many people there that are good people that just want to make a living like we do here in the USA. About 15% of them are radicals that want to kill us. That means 27 million people that want to kill us based on the total Muslim population of the world. They will also kill Muslims those that do not support their cause.
Oddly most war in the Middle East over the centuries has been between the Shiites and the Sunnis. A war based on religion. The difference between the two is about like the difference between a Baptist and a Methodist. Last I heard the Baptist have not attacked the Methodists?
The vast majority of the Muslim world lives in absolute fear of the 15%. One wonders why moderate Muslims do not oppose the radical insane jihadist Muslims? The do not for they live in fear of their life, and their families lives.
That is why our brilliant authors of the Constitution gave us the second amendment. Those Muslims that live in fear do not have rifles.
Afghanistan is a strange place in the Muslim World. It is brutal and very Sharia but mostly tribal. They recognize no borders outside of their tribal areas. Everyone has an AK-47. Oddly the nation (it is really not a nation but tribal areas) is not expansionist. The tribes do not care about anything outside of their tribal areas.
Trump is correct about pulling out of Afghanistan. Just let the tribal areas kill each other as they have done for centuries. If they try to bring their violence to us, kill them. The British, the Russians, the Indians tried to conquer Afghanistan as did we. All failed.
The only solution for Afghanistan is isolate them and if they come beyond their borders with Jihad, kill them with extreme prejudice. Also kill ISIS anywhere it exists.
Relative to the Russians in Afghanistan they were brutal to the extreme. They could not conquer Afghanistan. Albeit we did give the tribes Stinger Missiles. The absolute horror for a Russian pilot was to eject and be captured. It was not good.
