Even when I was in my 20’s I disliked the term “self care”. Perhaps it was because as a young wife and mother there wasn’t time or money for “self care”. Maybe I was jealous of those who could afford indulgences when I couldn’t even afford a basic haircut.
Now that I’m older and things are less strained I dislike it even more. Self care isn’t what people are lacking, self sacrifice is what is missing.
