The barrier-breaking new show, “The Prom,” claims to feature the first lesbian couple to ever front a Broadway musical. And while fictional, the creators say the story was inspired by real-life events — and a real-life politician.

Beguelin said an additional source of inspiration came from an unlikely place: Vice President Mike Pence. He said he especially wants those, like Pence, who are not known to be proponents of LGBTQ rights, to come see the show.
While Pence has recently been criticized by LGBTQ advocates for, among other things, speaking at an anti-gay group's conference and not mentioning the gay community on World AIDS Day, his reputation for being opposed to LGBTQ rights goes back to at least 2000. Perhaps most notably, however, Pence gained national attention in 2015 while governor of Indiana for signing into law a controversial religious freedom bill widely viewed as anti-LGBTQ.
Beguelin extended a personal invitation to Pence, saying, “I think you really need to come and see ‘The Prom,’ and also, we set it in Indiana because of you.”

Inviting Pence gets them press. Demanding an answer from Pence gets them press. If Pence goes they get press. If Pence does not go they still get press.

There is no such thing as a gay marriage. It’s a same-sex marriage. You don’t have to be gay to do it.

Liberal elitism on display. Denies any reasonable rejection of liberal sexual propaganda - that it can only be due to irrational fear or hatred.
Instead of admitting that one can disagree on this point due to the harm the LBGT lifestyle causes, he assumes we just have to meet and show you’re we’re happy and you’ll magically abandon reasoned arguments to the contrary.
Then, if you continue to disagree, you’re a crazy evil hater who has to be wiped off the face of the Earth. In the name of love and tolerance, of course.
There’s no such thing as same sex marriage either.
The police chief of my large Texas city was forced to make an appearance at a “gay film festival” event after a dust up between police and a queer bar. This was AFTER police were cleared of wrongdoing, except for “lack of sensitivity” for homo sensibilities. He was heckled, booed and made to do verbal penance in front of the theater. It was absolutely sickening.
I would have resigned first, and then sued.
