I like Mattis, and that’s one of the best things I’ve heard about him so far.
I’m thinking you don’t rise in the military hierarchy without gaining a massive ego, so I sympathize with his difficulty subjugating it to someone else. But it’s Trump who was elected, not him. And it’s got to be a hard thing to swallow when you really think someone is on the wrong path. I, completely unknowledgeable, ALWAYS side with Trump, so my sympathy for Mattis is limited by that.
He’s a funny guy, that’s what I like about Mattis, like Don Rumsfeld, he was always good for a smart remark.
But I do have to say I’ve always heard all generals are politicians, so it doesn’t surprise me he would have thought about it. Little old tho.
