I never really liked the new movies, and I certainly couldn’t follow the plot meanderings. The ONLY time I figured out what they were about was when I made the Weird Al version. Still couldn’t connect to the new movies emotionally, as I had the first 3, but at least I understood them. I consider that one an instructive video. Like learning to take a carburetor apart.
Perfect analogy. During the premier period of either the 2nd or 3rd film the family was visiting daughter in Alabama. It was decided we'd have a family outting to the new film. I am still ridiculed for sleeping thru about 80% of the movie. Bad Granny. Boring angst ridden soap opera was my impression of the 20%. But the young ones seem to love it as we did 4, 5 and 6.
