When you really think about it, Beck was not helping “people in need,” but profligate spenders that cannot control their spending. They may or may not have needed this stuff on layaway. People in need are walking the streets, looking for food and a place to sleep, and refuse any help. How do you help them?
His charity, Mercury One, helps them, and people who have suffered natural disasters, and it helps rescue people form ISIS and from sex slavery. Much of M1’s money comes form Beck himself, supplemented by the generosity of his audience.
