CBS paid Eliza Dushku $9.5 million after she accused "Bull" star Michael Weatherly of harassment

Eliza Dushku was written off CBS' "Bull" after she confronted Michael Weatherly about his behavior, according to a new report in the New York Times.

The Times said when Dushku appeared on "Bull" last year, there were "well-developed plans" to make her a full-time cast member, but those plans allegedly ended after she came forward with allegations against the show's star.

Dushku played a lawyer alongside Weatherly for just three episodes in Season 1. According to a draft report from lawyers hired by CBS' board to investigate the company's culture and sexual misconduct allegations and reviewed by the Times, Dushku was written off the show within days of confronting Weatherly about behavior that made her uncomfortable. Among the allegations: he told "a rape joke," and said in "front of the cast and crew" that he "would bend her over his leg and spank her."

In another alleged incident on set, Dushku held up three fingers during a scene. She allegedly told investigators, Weatherly suggested she wanted a threesome with him and another male cast member.

After being written off the show, Dushku entered mediation with CBS. According to the Times, that's when a lawyer for CBS handed over outtakes from "Bull" in belief it would help their case, but it allegedly backfired. The Times reports "the outtakes were a goldmine" that actually captured some of the harassment.

...

The network agreed this year to pay Dushku a confidential settlement of $9.5 million, roughly the amount she would have earned as a series regular.

She has been posturing herself as a “women’s rights” advocate for some time, including producing her own show to “show strong women” in a role.

So, I don’t think you’re right. She will in fact be celebrated and this may well jump start her career.

Charlie Harper basically WAS Charlie Sheen (the episode where Charlie Harper was nominated for a jingle award was actually about the Oscars and the times Sheen was nominated) once Sheen was gone, no matter how horrible his behavior was, nobody wanted to watch Ashton Kutcher who wasn’t nearly as good of a foil to Jon Cryer and the show died a horrible ratings death. “Two and a Half Men” is a classic example of an actor’s “brand” - everything about Charlie Sheen’s weird life in and out of the tabloids - becoming a useful plot device for a television show and how audience interest in that brand could be parlayed into ratings and advertising dollars.

Larry, come on. She’s been in 50 movies and 30 TV series and is still only 37. She’s going to college in Boston right now. If she’s celebrated by advocates it’s because this schmuck Weatherly handed it to her on a platter.

I think you’re right and that’s the bigger threat to the entire industry from this. Olivia Munn basically destroyed any opportunity for “the Predator” to succeed at the box office because she wanted to show her “me too” cred and call out her own director and studio (20th century fox) for employing a sex offender. Why, if you’re that studio, do you EVER employ Munn or anyone like her again? Not because you think employing a sex offender was right (the studio didn’t know and the director said the actor misled him), but because her protestations were done in a way that did maximum damage to the film’s release (she said it right before the red carpet premiere) and ability to pay HER salary, Fox’s entire investment and any hope at a profit. It’ll be just like the military where everyone understands that even TALKING to a woman, let alone casting or having a friendship with one, can destroy your career. Good luck with that world you can’t wait to create, metoo ladies.

If only I had known I could have sued Knottt’s over all the vulgar comments and rude suggestions from the college age waitresses to me when I was sixteen years old. Instead I just took it for what it was, playfull interaction between coworkers that no one got into a hissy fit over, no matter it was from the girls to guys or guys to girls.

Someone please invent a time machine so I can go back to the America I love!

Change Hollywood that’s funny get real it can’t be changed to many are willing just for a chance to be a star.
It’s akin to telling a hooker to get a job.

Oh, that’s completely right. I’m saying the people who will get ahead will be the women willing to not go for the lawsuit paydays and do the sex scenes (pick any actress from “Game of Thrones”) and not act all metoo like Olivia Munn or Eliza Dushku. What’s funny is that one of the women who totally did that, and screwed over other members of the sisterhood, is supposed metoo darling Alyssa Milano. She’s married to a creep who works for CAA.

Question:

How many women here on FR have EVER posed for such a picture dressed like that with such suggestive a pose & ‘clothing’ ????

I NEVER have & I would suspect that most women have not-—NOR ever would.

Also- She has dead eyes. Not very attractive at all.

The issue is really about her being cut from the role

His comments that offended her were her path to cash for that

10mil is a good start. A good start telling a married man who puts you over his knee and ‘spanks’ you to cut it out. I also thought ‘rape culture’ was overblown - yet here is this thread: Look what she is wearing! She is ugly! She deserves it! Her complaints might affect my ability to harass women! She is a slut! I was aroused by her - so she does not have a right to complain! I was not there, but I do not believe her version even though there is video proof! She must like it! How dare she try to be an actor after being molested!
-—Guys, you are better than this. I called some people some names, I am sorry. I guess like Hollywood, there is no changing FR now - I remember a time when most of the people on this thread would have been shamed off the site, but here we are.

They won’t

I agree boorish talk is now yet another tool to get paid

But also Hollywood is a cesspool of many immoral people

Especially in the homosexual predation of twinks

Most women out there will do anything for a role which is what I’m told by someone who has been in that world for two decades plus

What strikes me as most telling is the southern slope of the Hills from Glendale to Los Feliz to Hollywood to Beverly Hills and Bel Air and Holmby Hills on to the coast

There is a dearth of whites with children....you see plenty of Latinos and East Asians with kids but very few whites

Children are simply not a priority

LOL. If Weatherly were truly a sexist pig, I doubt he would have stayed on NCIS so many years.”””

I agree. Mark Harmon is a pretty straight arrow guy & he wouldn’t have stood still for such behavior on that show. NCIS is still one of my favorite shows.
