On the last thread, there was a lot of commotion about Gen Flint and Steve Bannon

I found these articles from the UK Guardian on Bannan

Now the Guardian is a left wing paper...but sometimes even a leftie uncovers a gem or two

Donald Trump’s former strategist has been touring the continent and attempting to sign parties up to his pan-European populist project. But as the Guardian’s Paul Lewis finds, it is not going completely to plan.

AND MORE:

The intervention of former Donald Trump adviser Steve Bannon in European politics could help rightwing parties become the biggest bloc in the European parliament next year, according to Nigel Farage.

The former Ukip leader predicted sweeping advances for anti-EU parties during next May’s European elections, aided by the new project announced by Bannon . Bannon, one of the architects of Donald Trump’s US election triumph in 2016 and the former head of the rightwing Breitbart News, aims to establish a pan-European populist foundation .

Extra:

GENEVA — Giving his first speech in Europe, Steve Bannon, former chief strategist for President Trump, praised the "populist revolt" gaining momentum across the continent.

The controversial conservative who resigned in January as executive chairman of Breitbart News spoke Tuesday in Zurich to a sold-out crowd of 1,500 at the invitation of the weekly Swiss magazine Die Weltwoche.

And in Austria:

The Austrian far right has said it is not eager to collaborate politically with Donald Trump's former adviser Steve Bannon over forming a pan-European right-wing movement. The secretary-general of the far-right Freedom Party (FPÖ), Harald Vilimsky, told ORF public television late on Tuesday that his party was not keen working with Bannon.

"We want to forge alliances in Europe but we do it independently of the US, Russia or anyone else," Vilimsky said.

"We want to grow, expand on our own and develop our programme and ideas on our own, but surely not under the leadership of someone active in the United States," he added.
