I so agree with your assessment of Q.
I do find myself wondering, however, if it might not be in Q’s best interests to stay unknown.
It’s kinda like an impressionist painting. You leave essential “pieces” out of the final product. If every line is “solidly painted out and defined” there isn’t as much wiggle room for the viewer to, ummm, ‘enter in’, and make the painting his own.
I see Q as having left just enough wiggle room so we can all find a niche (or two) in understanding and learning and developing a different view of things. Answering the challenging questions. Willing to wait as we think and research.
(This is such an inadequate response... would this movement have gotten as much traction if we knew the identify of Q? It seems to me that part of the excitement is in finding things out - eventually - piece by piece “by ourselves”. Working together. Here a little, there a little. A new community has been built. Do you think it would work best for Q to be id’d? It would signify to me that a different part of the plan, as I now understand it, has begun.
If there is a coming stage where this reveal would be best, what would it mean? (Seriously...). What would be in the process of implementation? Perhaps it is already known. I surely would like to know what is next, if it has been hinted at / explained / whatever.

It's what they do.
It's good to keep them fighting ghosts. Ghosts that they don't even acknowledge exist. Then the signal, or information, and spreading it, is all that matters. And, as we know, "can't stop the signal, Mal".
The derps fear a "woke" population more than anything.
I prefer the Q team remains a cipher. I have no need to know who they are.
If anything, let the Donald acknowledge it as a legitimate and authorized comm source, then let the derps deal with THAT one. And all that comes with it.
