You might as well give it up D KC, it is obvious that Sontagged's faith in God and Christ would be shattered if he ever came to believe the Earth is a sphere and men walked on the Moon.

It's really sad that this "Doubting Thomas" forces God to jump through hoops to conform to his own preconceived false notions.

Just let Jesus tell him to his face because none of this petty distraction affects salvation anyway. It's only a vexation for us and his ravings don't matter one whit.

TruBluKentuckian had him pegged from the start.

Oh, I wouldn't count on it, for a Christian born in this day and age who will not stand up to Evolutionism, or Dialectic Materialism, or anything that contradicts the Word is not right with God.

See, we Christians are to be apologists for the Word.

We are to be Bereans, as Paul explained.

The Lord God Jesus Christ warned His disciples sternly, when they asked Him about His second coming and the end of the world...

He said: "Beware deception"

Then, Paul reminds us that “for those who no longer love the Truth” God will send “strong delusion” so that these so-called believers will then be caused by God Himself to “believe a lie”.

(Not unlike the lying spirit the Lord sent to the most wicked king in Judah, Ahab.)

So while I agree with you that pressing people on issues of geography/astronomy/physics per se may not have anything to do with salvation, we as Christians are bound to remember that Christ teaches us that “heaven and earth shall pass away, but His Word is Eternal”...

... and His Word says that there is a Firmament.

God created each of us to live in this precise time frame as His ambassadors and apologists.

He knew there would be an internet (”in those times, knowledge will increase”) and the Lord knew every single position and point of His word would be challenged by the world, the flesh and the Devil.

You and I are bound to defend the whole of the Word, not parts of it, especially since so much of NASA’s math revolves around 666 sequences established only 500 years ago by Copernicus, the first real globe pusher.

We are to “beware deception” and remember that we must love the Truth.

But if you're an evolutionist or Darwinist, then you are already a true “Doubting Thomas” about Jesus Christ in terms of science.

Sorry to explain the finer points of our Christian duty, but your last required a response.

Overall, I think what you were trying to say is that we need to preach the Good News and walk daily in the joy of the Lord... which is what one of my fave Youtubers is trying to say in this video:

EXPOSED...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxPnNmn46_M

“Of all the deceptions and agendas we strive to expose, perhaps the evasive thing to try and uncover... are the parts of ourselves that we don't want to see...

Far easier to fix our gaze somewhere else.

Anywhere else...

We long to see change in the world, change in the people around us, but staying focused on allowing God to change our own hearts, above all else, is probably the most difficult aspect of Faith, in the end...

At least that has proven true in my own life.

It's easy to preach about Forgiveness, but so much harder to live it out.

To let go of all the ways that you've been wounded by others.

To have joy in the fact that your sin was paid for at the cross, even while many of the earthly consequences of that sin might still remain...

All I know is that analyzing the endless machinations of the Enemy, does not bring me Peace.

Debunking every falsehood I encounter, doesn't ultimately make the demands of God's Truth on my life any easier.

Finding ways to express myself creatively, and have other people see and listen, doesn't give me a lasting sense of worth... "(continued...)
